After much deliberation because I really like my privacy I decided to start this blog spot to explore the idea of expanding my viewing audience through the documentation of the my artworks. Give some identity to the series of projects I hope to create through studio1projects in my current studio located within the studio complex that surrounds Trocadero Artspace in Footscray, Vic. I also intend to use this forum to create an open diary, clarify my own thoughts and process to this current series of projects and experience a sense of satisfaction through the actual making of the artwork . These days I rarely have the opportunity to seriously discuss my artwork with like minded artists and hope that this can be a means to keep myself positively motivated. While cater the possibility of sharing these thoughts and experiences with viewers engage opportunities to comment and further dialogue if they wish.
I certainly welcome any comments or feedback good or bad I suppose.
Here is a few details about Studio 1 projects.
Late last year I decided to rent out a larger studio than I normally would consider with the idea of creating a space to accommodate the large scale wall works I wish to create and also cater as an exhibition space from time to time. Taking into consideration my own commitments and time constraints that limit what I can do and where I can go I thought this studio could certainly accommodate the large scale wall works I wanted to continue creating but have not had the opportunities to exhibit them in both the quality and format that I would have preferred. The challenge I have set myself is to create a more succinct body of work to further promote myself. The last few months I have been preparing the space and hope to warm up to the studio 1 projects by having a studio opening in late March where I will also have my first artwork on display.
The first exhibition opens on the 26 March from 4-6pm, I will sit the space for further viewing on the following Fri and Sat 1 and 2 April from 1-5pm and then further by appointment.
The background of this blog spot displays the exterior view of my studio.
Working on the glass panels was both a challenge and fun at the same time. Below is few examples of the window installation works I created for both the exterior and interior view of the studio. Which I think I might change from time to time.
